Mel,
Would you be interested in financing a personal "project" of mine ?
Concerning clothes design, which will later lead to costume design as well.
It involves paying for material and thread for 12 dresses that I need to make.
- 4 house dresses
- 4 casual/weekend dresses
- 4 street/shopping dresses
Max cost of material - $15m x 30m = $450
Max cost of thread - $5 per spool x 12 = $60
Total cost - $510
This is probably an overestimate.
It's difficult to know exactly as it depends on
type of fabric / fabric design, that is chosen / available at the time.
I have already designed the pattern for the house dresses.
So, that is ready to go ahead.
But, all my cash is going into paying off the Dyslexia therapy,
so there is no leeway for this project at the moment.
What is your business model for encouraging new talent ?
Could you incorporate provision for this sort of thing within it ?
And how could I access it ?
But,this is more of a personal project which would only bring a personal return,
not a return for the community,
which is why I can't really approach any community based program,
(within private enterprise .. I really want to get out of looking to the government for
financial support)
so, would you be interested instead in financing this privately
with the view to encouraging new talent ?

Becalmed : Myst
Mel,
That walk back along the path above the beach the other day totally reminded me of the sound and atmosphere from the game "Myst".
That quiet sound of the waves slowly breaking on the beach / rocks, and nothing else. Which is because there were virtually no people on the island.
That's what it was.
I didn't finish the game of "Myst", but I pondered for a long time about the answer to the question that is needed to get Katherine out of the prison.
And I think it's
Which is interesting, because I just sat for that maths exam yesterday, at the Uni (Charles Darwin University).

Burnt
Mel,
My legs are feeling alot better, after all that sunburn (from Australia Day - Jan 26). The dead skin has just about all peeled off. They looked like I had been in a fire !!!
But, it's all good now :)

The Storm
Mel,
How good was that storm at the beach !
I can't get enough of being able to feel the wind on my face,
leaning against the rail on the cliff.
And the rain....I don't mind a bit of rain. Maybe that's an understatement, as it was a tropical downpour !
I was surprised to see all those guys out there surfing. For one,
I didn't know that anyone surfed up here (in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, if anyone is wondering) as the beaches are so shallow. But, there was some surf going on there. I suppose that's why Nightcliff beach is popular, as it's a bit deeper than the rest. That too, would explain the "character" of Nightcliff.
Plus, I've never been out there when there's a storm, so I wouldn't have known before. Maybe, that's the only time there is enough swell. Too Good !
