The Wave

The Wave

Oh, to be a wave,

Dancing on a rock,

Splashing in the air,

Spilling o'er the sides,

Back in to the sea.

Star Trek : Into Darkness

Mel and Shell,

"Star Trek : Into Darkness", was excellent.
I have to say that it all came together for me when I saw the "Enterprise" was taking off, and the jet
engines powered up.
When living in Charters Towers ( Queensland, Australia ), a guy was travelling around and we went
to the showgrounds to see the jet engine that he had on the back of his ute (true story). He powered
it up, and that was a special moment for me. I could feel the heat off the engine; and we were sitting
up in the grandstand  :)

Art - Is it the right colour?

Jo,

When looking at the scene that you want to paint,
it can be hard to work out what a particular colour is.

So, it's useful to compare it to a chart of
previously mixed colours.

I've already compiled a range to use as reference points, below.

They are arranged in this way -

- Colour             - Shade (Dark)

- Tint (Light)       - Grey shade

To mix the colours                                              Names
YO - more yellow than red                                 Y - yellow
O   - yellow and red                                          O - orange
RO - more red than yellow                                 R - red
RP  - more red than blue                                   P - purple
P     - red and blue                                            B - blue
BP   - more blue than red                                  T - turquoise
BT   - more blue than green                               G - green
T      - blue and green                                        L - lime
GT   - more green than blue
GL   - more green than yellow
L     - green and yellow
YL  - more yellow than green

Dark            -  colour + a little bit of black
Light            -  white + a little bit of colour
Grey shade   - white + a little bit of black + a little bit of colour

Iron Man 3

Mel,

How good was Iron Man 3 the other day?
Excellent on so many levels.

In particular, technology.
I have a thing for iron. I don't know why.
And also for engineering.
The stunts were excellent. Especially the "freefalling"of all those people, and the "barrel of monkeys" hookup. I remember playing "barrel of monkeys" when I was a child  :)

I was just on Robert's Facebook page and saw a photo of how they did it with all the wires. Mammoth effort.

This role "suits" Robert well.
