So, I just popped into NIDA
(National Institute of Dramatic Art)
on Anzac Parade in Kensington,
(Sydney, New South Wales, Australia)
this afternoon (Fri 1 April).
I had a good look at the
work displayed:
costume drawings, models of sets,
and, some artwork done by
students in the property (props) dept.
All very interesting :)

On Tuesday, I had an afternoon out at Bondi Beach. It rained a little and it's starting to get a bit cool, as autumn has arrived. But, there were still some tourists and locals out enjoying the sights, which you can see below -

Eastern Beaches Coastal Walkway
From Bondi Beach (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia),
to Maroubra Beach, a few kilometres to the south,
a walkway has been constructed,
to enable easy walking between those two points along the coast,
in order to enjoy the scenic views and places of interest along the way.
Here is a sign, just south of Coogee Beach,
showing the route, along the stage from Clovelly Beach to Maroubra Beach.
I went for a walk from Maroubra Beach to Coogee Beach on Saturday,
a distance of 5.3 km. It took me 3 hours, but I was taking my time :)
Here are some of the things of interest along the way -
Mahon Pool - a rock pool, carved into the rock, where swimmers can bathe in
relative safety, while enjoying the crash of the waves over the edge and into the
pool.
Lonely cairn - which is actually
a survey point, on the headland at
the Jack Vanny Reserve. This is
the aspect looking east, out towards
the sea (The Pacific Ocean).
Below, is a panorama of the aspect
looking west.
On the left, you can see the headland
just to the south of Maroubra Beach.
On the right, you can see the
coastal headlands up to the one just
north of Bondi Beach.
The Ivo Rowe Pool - a natural rock
pool, carved into the rock, and used
by swimmers.
The walkway, looking south.
The Trenerry Peat Swamp - a peat swamp which has been carefully restored,
in the Trenerry Reserve, and which sits in a small basin, high up on the edge of
the cliff. Researchers from the University of New South Wales (UNSW),
have found history dating back 1,000 years in this swamp.

Maroubra Beach is the next beach south of Coogee Beach, which is south of Bondi Beach, in Sydney (New South Wales, Australia). I went down for a look yesterday. The sun was shining, and there were a lot of surfers in the water at the northern end. Not many swimmers, though.

Coogee Rain
A rainy day in paradise :)
Autumn has arrived, and it has been
raining, as it usually does in Sydney
(New South Wales, Australia).
I took this photo earlier this morning,
looking towards Bondi.

Sydney & Ships
So I was down at Circular Quay in Sydney (New South Wales, Australia) today, having some lunch.
The cruise liner which is docked here, is the "Carnival Legend".
If anything typifies Sydney, it is passenger ships. As this is the precinct where the ships brought the first settlers to Australia from England.

The Spot Festival
This afternoon (Sun 6 March 2016), I went to see what was happening at The Spot Festival, in Randwick, in Sydney (New South Wales, Australia).
It is a free street party, for one afternoon and evening, which centres around the Ritz Cinema (more about this later).
There were live performances / music on two stages, many stalls selling handicrafts, and many food vendors. It was a hot day, but there was icecream !

Bali Bombings Memorial
On Dolphin Point, north of Coogee Beach, Sydney (New South Wales, Australia), stands the "Memorial to the Victims of the Bali Bombings", as many of the Australians who were killed there came from this area.
On the plaque underneath, it reads -
"MEMORIAL TO THE VICTIMS OF THE BALI BOMBINGS
This memorial is dedicated to all those killed
and injured in the Bali bombings on 12 October 2002.
It is a tribute to the Australian spirit of
courage and endurance.
The linked figures in this sculpture signify family, friends and
community. Bowed in sorrow and remembrance, they comfort
support and protect each other. The figures also symbolise
life, growth, hope and our strength in unity.
The Memorial was unveiled by the Premier of NSW,
The Hon. Bob Carr MP on the first anniversary of the tragedy
