Coogee Carols 2018

On Sunday, 16 Dec 2018,
I went to the Coogee Carols,
at the park behind Coogee Beach,
hosted by Cameron Daddo,
an Australian television personality.

Here are some photos,
to give you all an idea
of how things went.

It was professionally done,
as usual.
The sound was excellent.
And the songs were stirring.

And it only rained slightly !!




It would seem that this,
is the biggest Christmas event
in Sydney.

Poem - "Sister Dear"

Sister Dear

For Bearta

                                                       Bearta, Bearta, sister dear,

                                                       Things are now becoming clear,

                                                       Searching in the forest near,

                                                       Deeper, deeper, with no fear.

                                                       Always happy, for me to come,

                                                       And help you, some.

                                                       Collect the daily stock,

                                                       For the cooking pot.

                                                       With my leather bag in tow,

                                                       For the things, you to show,

                                                       In the wild, they do grow.

                                                       Much it is, that you do know.

                                                       Teaching me the forest lore,

                                                       What's good to eat, what makes you sore,

                                                       Respecting nature, for,

                                                       It will provide, we won't be poor.

                                                       Berries, herbs, and roots, and more !

                                                       Holding my hand, when I'm afraid.

                                                       How I miss you so, sister dear, 

                                                                                                .... forest maid.

Mercury Retrograde

Hi Everyone,

So, what happened ??

A friend has told me,
that when I disappeared from my blogs,
that it was the time of a Mercury Retrograde
(in Astrological terms).

I ran into communication problems,
and the Mercury Retrograde knocked me for six !!

So, I feel that I've been in a Bermuda Triangle of sorts !!

So, what have I been doing all this time ?
That is a very good question !!

I've been going to the cinema, as usual.
And, sorting out some personal issues, as usual.



But, in the main, I've been developing my understanding of design in knitting.

Yes, it's slow work, and you need to be able to sit for a long time !!
For some people, this is not for them.
But, I'm finding it fascinating, as it's very mathematical,
and I'm working out the designs myself.

Above, is a beret that I just finished yesterday.
The yarn is a bit firm, so it turned out to be more of a hat !!
But, just the thing to make a fashion statement (of sorts) at the next (winter) film premiere,
that I go to .  :)
