I have tried to organise the
information in, as logical way as possible,
so there are some concept threads that
I have used, which I will outline below –
To set up this List,
follow these steps –
OPEN
the File 9-NAME-Characters
FIRST APPEARANCE
- GO TO
the Line below the
Heading
- TYPE IN
ALONG THE RIGHT SIDE, 2 COLUMN HEADINGS, such –
First

Visual, Dialogue, (Mention)
Book Script
Page Page
This is following the concepts –
- Organising All Characters in
Order of their First Appearance,
whether that is a Visual Appearance, Speaking some Dialogue and not seen, or,
Mentioned in the text or by
another Character
-
The First Appearance is based on, the First Appearance in the
Book
This is if you are working from a pre-existing written work
If you are writing an Original Script / Screenplay, then you would base the
First Appearance on that in the Script
So, I have aligned them to
the Book Page Column
And, the Script Page Column here, is incidental
- PRESS ENTER
to make a Space Line
- PRESS ENTER
to move to the First Line for the
Character Information
Organise the Character Information in this way -
NUMBERING
There are 4 NUMBERS
that I have associated with each
Character –
1 - ORDER
of FIRST APPEARANCE
- Left Side
Aligned to the Left Margin,
with a
Full Stop, such –
[Left

2 - SCENE NUMBER, etc., where the
Character makes the FIRST APPEARANCE
in the
SCRIPT
- Right Side
Aligned to 5 SPACES LEFT
of the LEFT MARGIN, such -

FIRST APPEARANCE in the
BOOK
