Screenplay Format # 14 - Locations / Scenes List - Part 3
If you have a long Contents List, and would like to make it more compact,
then it can be put into 2 columns, such –
- Have NO Header
- Keep Footer
- Have the Contents List starting on the line
of the page
where you want it to begin
under the File Heading
- Have the whole Contents List aligned down the
Left Margin.
continuing over the Page Break
without any breaks
- Place the Cursor at the end of the list
- Left Click on it to make it a flashing line
- Press
ENTER however many times it
takes
to move the Details of Locations / Scenes
onto the next page,
beginning the text at the TOP
of that page
- BACKSPACE
the line of text –
Name – White Draft – No Month YEAR
to the Left Margin
-
SELECT all the Page Lines
from the top line of the first page
containing the Contents,
and go down all of that page and all of the
next page length
- Left Click on the Layout tab on the ribbon
above
- Left Click on Columns
- Left Click on Two
This forms the TWO PAGE lengths into ONE,
WITH TWO COLUMNS
- UNSELECT
all that was Selected
- Place the Cursor at the beginning of the top
line of the second column
- Left Click it so that it becomes a flashing
line
- Press
ENTER 8 times
- SELECT & CUT the line of text -
Name – White
Draft – No Month YEAR
- Press
ENTER once,
to replace the line that was removed
- Place the curser at the beginning of the
first line of the second column
- Left Click on it to make it a flashing line
- Press the
DOWNWARD ARROW Key 3 times
- PASTE
in the text line -
Name – White Draft – No Month YEAR
v If you ever have
alignment problems -
- Left Click on the “Show / Hide Paragraph Marks” symbol,
in the Home ribbon,
and it will show you what the hidden format is,
which you can more easily see and then correct

11. DETAILS OF LOCATIONS / SCENES
General Location Numbers
Now that the General Location Headings are all numbered, in the Contents -
-
APPLY those numbers to the same
General Headings
in the Details of Locations / Scenes
eg.

3. The Oval Office
etc.
