IO 6 - 10 - KAPPA

No. 10

KAPPA

I think that this symbol represents,
an open pair of dressmaker’s scissors –

The short sound of    k,

I think,
comes from the sound of cutting something with a tool, so -

            k                  a                   pp                  a

could very well, mean -

            Cut            thing              men             thing

P  =  man      *See note below
PP  =  more than 1 man

ie.,       Cut something to make something for men.

In this case –

Cut fabric (leather, cloth) to make men’s clothing.

ie.

            TAILORING

As opposed to,
Clothing that was produced from using less sophisticated tools,
and different methods -

eg.       Grass Hats

            Grass Skirts

Looking at some similar, related words –

            NAP

            N          A          P

            In       thing       line

P  =  line,   *See note below

ie.       In / along    the thing’s    natural line of formation / weakness.

TO  KNAP

Means  -  to chip off fragments of stone  (eg. flint),
in order to shape it into a cutting tool

             K          N          A          P

             Cut       in       thing       line

ie.        Cut    in / along    the thing’s    natural line of formation / weakness.

I would say,
that a stone would have been picked up and worked,
maybe while sitting at the fire of an evening,
and that it was noticed that it was easier
to chip off pieces (with another stone)
along certain directions of weakness.

In this way, stone cutting tools would have been made,
for example, to be used to butcher an animal for food,
which initially involves removing the hide –

The Butcher would have handed the hide over to the Tanner,
who would have cleaned and prepared it
for whatever end result was desired.

In the cleaning of the fleshy side,

they would have used stone cutting tools
to scrape off the residual flesh and membranes.

I think that it would become obvious
that it would be easier to scrape
in the direction that the hairs were sitting in.

This direction, I think,  also came to be known as the –

            NAP

And, what would have been produced, was –

            LEATHER,    with or without hair

Also sitting at the fire,
after a while, it would be noticed
that substances were melting out of some of the stones
that were around and containing the fire, in the heat.
This would have led to the development
of the processing of these types of stone
to extract metals, etc.,
and their subsequent shaping into tools etc.

This includes the Dressmaking Scissors.

Woven fabric, also has -

            NAP

probably because the loom makes the material in one direction, only.
So, the mechanical action is biased in one direction,
along its length, either upwards or downwards,
both of which can appear slightly different.

Concerning Tailored Clothing -
the development of the leather industry
was probably separate from
the development of the fabric industry,
but both running alongside each other,
on occasion, integrating their designs
to create a certain clothing style.

As to where the centres were,
it makes sense to me,
that if the centre of the cattle industry was –

            CATALHOYUK

in Southern Turkey,

then the centre of the leather industry,
could very well have been –

            CAPPADOCIA

in Central Turkey,
relatively close by –

Leather goods produced,
would most likely have included,
Saddlery, Upholstery etc., as well as Clothing,
for those involved in war, and also heavy industry.

I don’t know where the centre for the fabric industry would have been,
and it may well have been a secondary / supportive industry to leather.
But indications are that the area within what is now Northern Turkey
was producing a lot of grain, ie.,

The Land of  The Scythians

Those with the Scythe  (for cutting grain)

and they could have specialised in Flax and other fabric producing plants
and also sheep etc, for wool.

* Note

Concerning    P    and    V    -

I have reason to believe that very early on in human history,

P          was the symbol for     Penis (at rest)  and  scrotum

With the sound    p    of a boy or man urinating

            Think,    Pee    and    Pee Pee

and,

V          was the symbol for    A Woman’s Crotch

With the sound    w    (as in Latin)    of a girl or woman urinating

            Think,    Wee    and    Wee Wee

In this way, I would say,

P          came to mean    Boy / Man

and,

V          came to mean    Girl / Woman

PP        meaning    More than one boy / man,    Boys / Men

VV        meaning    More than one girl / woman,    Girls / Women

Developing from this idea,

P          also came to mean    Line / Direction    (In general)

and,

V          also came to mean    Hole    (In general)
