Illustration vs Animation

What are the differences between
a painted drawing done for illustration, and
a painted drawing done for animation?

As with everything, there are exceptions to the rule,
but in general, I have worked out the following guidelines -

Illustration

- thin outline   (in pen etc.)

- broken outlines,
     can be included

- layered colour,
     colour can be applied in layers.

Animation

- thicker outline   (in pen etc.)

- unbroken outlines,
     giving definite contained areas  
     for seperate colours.

- solid colours,
     colour applied uniformly.
