Coogee Surf Life-Savers' Club and rock pools, before and after the storm of
4 & 5 June 2016 (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia).
Before
On 26 April 2016
After
On 17 Jun 2016
So, as you can see,
all the sand has been
gouged out,
having ended up in the
park at the north end
of the beach.
Not to mention
the 2 big holes
in the seaward side wall
of the clubhouse.
And, the disappearance
of the railing along the
walkway.
Because of the damage,
the south end of the beach
is still blocked off to the
public, as you can see here.
All the sandstone blocks
in the lower right-hand
corner of this photo
are the corrnerstones
that were dislodged
from the lower
promenade.
The storm was expected
weather for this time of
year, however, this one was
stronger than usual.
If anyone locally or otherwise, feels the urge to help the Surf Club financially to get the
building up and running again, I can't speak for them, but I'm sure that any appropriate
assistance would be greatly appreciated.
