Xandra's Game (7)

"The Stargate is Open!"


Having thought on my situation,
I went back to Rose and explained,
"I don't think I can do this,"
holding the piece of paper
that I had brought with me,
with the maths problem on it
that I was working on all those years ago.
"Why do you think that?" Rose asked,
full of heartfelt concern.
"I don't know," I replied,
 exasperated and unsure of myself,
appreciating that she wasn't going to take no for an answer.
"Classic, give up before I even start," I continued.
"I would like you to have a go," Rose said, giving me another big hug.
"Alright," I said, melting under Rose's compassion.

So, I went back to my spot, a little distant from everyone else,
away from the sound of their talking, as I couldn't concentrate,
to ponder my problem.

And, as Carrie explained to all, how to go through the Stargate,
I frantically worked on my writing.

"You are coming, aren't you?"
I looked up from my work, to see a new face that I didn't know.
"Yes, of course," I replied, not sounding too convincing, but meaning it nevertheless.
"Let me know when you're going."
"Ok, then," Zoe responded, not sounding too convincing either.

So, I went back to my maths problem.

I was so engrossed in solving this problem,
that I didn't realise until much later, that the talking had stopped.
I looked up, and they had all gone!

The Stargate was open!

I didn't move,
as from my semi-secluded spot, I saw,
that across the hole on the other side of the Stargate,
a man sat crouching amongst the rocks.
He looked familiar.
Then he came down, and another man coming along that ledge, joined him.
I knew this man! It was the orc in disguise!
They quickly went to, and in through the Stargate.

This made me hesitate even more!

Had they seen me, and,
should I follow at a distance, I wondered?

It was then that I noticed,
that a light flurry of snow had covered the area up to and around the Stargate.
"How unusual," I thought.
It looked striking against the reddish colour of the rocks.
"Are they iron-ore?" I wondered,
"And why does that make a difference?"
"And what does this maths problem have to do with any of this?"

Mel,

Your apology is accepted.

I knew you were in great pain at the time,
but I didn't know until the other day,
that they had broken your leg.

So, it happened in that fight with Shane
over your dog.......

I think they broke my arm.

I didn't know until now,
that you had a special connection with that dog.
That's how I feel about Shari, Josie's dog.
                                                 
I remembered a while back,
that in the "family meetings",
I was told to hold the leash connected to a brown dog,
as it was standing up,
while they dosed it with, what I now realize were x-rays,
from a circular drum-like piece of equipment
suspended from above it's back
(like was done to holocaust victims
in Nazi experiments, to sterilize women).

They killed your dog, didn't they.......

I loved all the animals and people there
(except the abusers),
and my heart broke whenever they died.
But, I couldn't say anything.

What do you get out of it?

Mel,

So, what would you get out of having a relationship with me?

Some of those things would include -
Home Cooked Meals -
I finished writing up my basic cooking skills/recipe book
around the beginning of this year,
and I'm keen to put it into practice,
but I need you,
to supply the house (our home), and,
pay for the kitchen equipment (which I would like to choose).
Affection for You - 
Hugs, and kisses for you (on the cheek, in public).
Discussions -
Talking over a cuppa or a meal, about whatever  ideas we have.
We need to agree first on something, before we go ahead with it.
Helping You with Your Issues -
Be they personal, with the children and family etc, or work.
Household Management -
Managing the household,
from budgeting, keeping the house clean, clothes washed and garden tidy.
I think that mowing large expanses of lawn may be your area of expertise,
though I love using my hand mower for small areas.
Friends and Family Coming to Visit - 
I think we need to be a bit careful about who we allow to come over.
We need to be in agreement, before we invite anyone over.
Our home/s need to be safe sanctuaries,
for the two of us, and whoever we invite over.
Workmates Coming Over -
I think that get-togethers with workmates,
need to be done at other venues, not in our home.
Company in Bed -
Snuggling up together in bed (mostly at night).
Real Sex -
Having real sex together, only you and me.

* This is not a deal
There are no "deals" in relationships.

Film - "Beauty and the Beast" (2017)

I went to see this film on the weekend  :)

It's the most beautifully crafted, engaging (being a musical), all-round film,
in the true Hollywood tradition, that I've ever seen !!
Not that I've seen everything.

And is Oscar worthy, in my opinion !

Magical, magical, magical

Smoking

Mel,

I'm not sure where you are exactly
with your smoking at the moment,
but if you want to be with me,
then I would be asking you these things -

Not to smoke in the car at all.

Not to smoke tailor-mades in the house.
Outside would be ok.

Inside the house, I would be ok,
                                                         if you smoked a cigar occasionally.

                                                         Ideally, there should be no smoking at all.

No Drunkenness

Mel,

If you want to be with me,
then there can be no drunkenness.

Ideally,
there should be no alcohol.

I'm not sure where you are exactly with this at the moment,
but, I believe you when you say that you've been sober
for the last 10 years.
So, I hope that you can continue to be so  :)
