BACKGROUND ELEMENTS
For each file, go through
the steps outlined in –
HEADER AREA
In each of these files, the Header Area should be set up in
the same way.
I set up this Area, in this way -
Top of page____________________________________________________________
Khaki Town – White Draft – 18 Nov 2019 1
To Do This -
Place the cursor at the
first position at the top of the page, Aligned Left.
Click on it, so that it
sets a flashing line at that position, then -
Top of page_____________________________________________________________
3 Main Text spaces
Main Text Title – White Draft – Date No.
1 Main Text space
Screenplay Information
This is the same
information as on the Title Page.
Type in - Title of Work – White Draft – Date
- Align to Right Margin
Page Number
The Page Number, was put manually
into the right margin, of each page,
in this way -
- Move the Right Indent to the edge of the page
The Right Indent,
is the little Triangle
at the Left edge
of the Right Margin
(the grey area)
in the ruler
at the top of the
page.
Put the cursor on it,
until the cursor forms
the Single Headed Arrow,
with the
box saying
“Right Indent”.
Not the Double Headed Arrow,
with the box
saying,
“Right Margin”.
At the same time,
hold the Left Mouse
Key down
and move the cursor
(and the Triangle)
to the far Right edge of the ruler.
Then, release the
mouse key.
This allows things to be typed in the margin.
- Place the cursor just to the RIGHT of the
Date
- Click on it, so that it sets a flashing line
at that position, then -
- Tap the Space Bar
9 times (9 spaces)
- Type the Page Number
- Press ENTER to go to the next line
- Reverse the procedure to put the Right Indent
back to its original position, of 2,5
cm
(the Left edge of the 2.5 cm of dark grey
area,
on the Right edge of the ruler).
Consecutive Numbers
I used 9
spaces for all Page Numbers, single, double or
triple digit.
I Aligned them to the Left
in their column,
down the file, as this
was neater.
eg. 1
10
100

HEADINGS
Each of these files,
except for the Script,
needs to have a Heading.
Which should be the same
as the file name,
indicating what the file
is about.
I used these Headings –
